Non-CDL Delivery Driver

Excel Logistics, Inc. | Ashburn, Virginia | Full-Time

Our Non CDL Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate pickup and delivery of documents, packages, and other items to commercial and residential locations throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. This position operates company-owned non-CDL vehicles in compliance with all applicable laws and company policies, ensuring that all deliveries are completed efficiently, professionally, and with full documentation. The driver serves as a direct representative of Excel, maintaining professional appearance, communicating effectively with dispatch, and upholding the highest standards of customer service, safety, and operational reliability in a 24/7/365 environment.

What You'll Do

  • Operate company-owned non-CDL vehicles in full compliance with all federal, state, and local traffic laws, regulations, and company driving policies.
  • Load vehicles with listed goods, verifying that all packages, documents, and items are correctly accounted for and securely positioned before departure.
  • Follow the most efficient routes to ensure timely delivery while minimizing fuel consumption, travel time, and operational costs.
  • Check and confirm that the correct package or item is on board before leaving each pickup or delivery location.
  • Obtain signatures on deliveries as required, and follow established procedures regarding the handling, tracking, and documentation of all delivered items.
  • Communicate effectively and promptly with dispatch regarding route status, delivery confirmations, delays, issues, or changes in operational conditions.
  • Report any vehicle maintenance needs, safety concerns, or mechanical issues immediately to the appropriate supervisor or maintenance team.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle logs, delivery records, and all required documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Always maintain a professional appearance, representing the company positively during all customer and public interactions.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies, including the proper use of warehouse equipment such as rolling ladders, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts when applicable.
  • Follow all procedures related to the secure handling, transport, and delivery of sensitive or confidential materials, including compliance with HIPAA, TSA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • What We're Looking For

    • Prior B2B delivery driver experience in a commercial or logistics environment.
    • Knowledge of the Washington D.C. metropolitan area and surrounding Mid-Atlantic region, including major routes, traffic patterns, and delivery zones.
    • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to pass all required driving record screenings.

    Work Environment

    The role operates in office and warehouse settings under high and low temperature conditions, as well as in outdoor environments exposed to varying weather conditions. The position requires use of standard office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners, telephones, push-to-talk devices, and fax machines, in addition to warehouse equipment including rolling ladders, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to perform rigorous physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and whole-body movement. These activities include standing, reaching, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, carrying loads over 50 lbs., and performing repetitive hand motions requiring finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination. The ability to hear, speak, and visually inspect packages, documents, and delivery conditions is required. The employee must be able to work in varying weather conditions and maintain physical stamina throughout extended shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holiday coverage as required by 24/7/365 operational needs.
