HVAC Controls Technician: To provide timely checkout, start-up, and commissioning for controls projects.
Job Type: Full-time

What you will do:
  • Provide wiring and termination support to low voltage electrical subcontractors
  • Provide as-built editing to internal project engineers
  • Provide sense of urgency toward the completion of controls projects
  • Review, research, and study project documents
  • Coordinate completion of projects
  • Provide controls to electrical subcontractors with termination clarification
  • Coordinate as-built drawings
  • Provide as-built editing and set point information
  • Maintain a skill level for system start-up and troubleshooting of Tracer products, electronic controls, and pneumatics
  • Provide Team Leader and Operations Manager with daily electronic time sheets and service tickets
  • Maintain company vehicles
  • Provide Team Leader and Operations Manager with product quality controls items to be used for conference calls to the technical team
  • Communicate with Project Manager on a continual basis in order to provide timely response for project success
  • Communicate with Team Leader or Operations Manager in a timely manner on problems that occur outside of their control, and provide written and/or verbal responses within 24 hours
  • Other duties as assigned

What we're looking for:
  • Completion of 5-year apprenticeship program or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Must have a minimum one Journeyman license within MD, DC, VA, and must have MD and DC within six months of hire
  • Must have OSHA 30 within 6 months of hire
  • Niagara 4 certification is a plus
  • Knowledge of Trane service tools is a plus
  • Must be fluent with MS Office, Outlook and product-specific programming language
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Strong communication skills, problem solver, detailed, thorough, reliable, self-motivated, deadline-oriented

Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent visits and mobility within the office and job sites
  • Ability to safely drive a commercial van loaded with tools in busy DC traffic
  • Ability to climb ladders, bend and kneel for extended periods of time, lift a minimum of 50lbs on a frequent basis
  • Being able to work indoors and outdoors through all seasonal changes
