Job description

Staff Attending Physician

This staff attending physician for the Department of Emergency Medicine will provide patient care, teach medical students and residents, conduct research, and participate in administrative activities. Major duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Attending in the VACCHS Emergency Department to provide direct patient care.
  • Clinical activities may take place during VA off-tour hours, including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Clinical duties may encompass both in-person and virtual care modalities.
  • Didactic teaching of trainees including students and residents.
  • Clinical supervision of trainees in the Emergency Department and in any assigned clinical duties.
  • Participation in administrative duties as assigned, which may include Process Improvement/Quality Assurance activities or other activities.
  • Availability for scheduled "on call" backup duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.
