About This Position:
The Broadcast/Media Relations Internship with the Cincinnati Cyclones is an all-encompassing position that will work alongside and report directly to the Director of Public Relations and Broadcasting throughout the entirety of the 2025-26 ECHL regular season and playoffs. The ideal candidate for this internship must have a passion for broadcasting, but also a desire to write, shoot/edit video, create content, and learn other duties as assigned. The goal of this internship is to enhance the on-air and media efforts of the Cyclones, but also for this specific candidate to assemble a versatile skill set that is practical to the landscape of a job in minor league sports. This is a PAID, part-time position.
Broadcast/Media Relations Internship Main Duties:
  • Assist in setup and tear down of broadcast equipment/press box at all home games.
  • Work with the Director of Public Relations and Broadcasting on creating video content geared towards both hockey and casual audiences.
  • Cut/edit/produce game highlights for each Cyclones home game.
  • Serve as a contact point for local media outlets to provide game notes, media kits, and additional materials as needed during home games.
  • Conduct interviews with players and coaches for broadcasts and other forms of media outlets.
  • Maintain a line of transparent communication with the Director of Public Relations and Broadcasting, along with Social Media Coordinator, Director of Public Relations and Marketing, Interns from other departments, and all others when necessary.
  • Grow the Cyclones brand through new and engaging ways while upholding core brand values.
  • Assist in sorting player photos/footage.
  • Provide analysis through intermission reports and color commentary.
  • Ability to travel to select nearby road games when asked.

The best candidates for this internship will:
  • Strong creative, organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Have a strong, creative sense of developing/shooting/producing video content (Experience with adobe suite HIGHLY preferred)
  • Understanding of the rules of ice hockey
  • Experience in sports preferred, but not necessary
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • Have their own device to edit/work on (MacBook/Apple Product preferred)
  • Thrive in an upbeat and high energy environment
  • Be able to multi-task and communicate effectively
