Job description

Job Title: Laser Operator & ProgrammerJob Description

Join a growing precision manufacturing team as a Laser Operator & Programmer, where you will program, set up, and operate TRUMPF fiber laser equipment and related automation systems. You will support the full metal fabrication process, from programming and cutting sheet metal components to assisting with secondary operations, while maintaining a strong focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Program, set up, and operate TRUMPF fiber laser equipment and automation systems to support production requirements.
  • Create, edit, and optimize laser cutting programs using TRUMPF Boost software or similar CAD/CAM platforms.
  • Develop efficient nesting layouts to maximize material utilization and cutting efficiency.
  • Program sheet metal components for laser cutting and support secondary operations such as press brake forming.
  • Maintain a 2–4 day programming backlog to ensure consistent support for production demands.
  • Support machine operators with programming revisions, troubleshooting, and process improvements.
  • Load and unload sheet metal materials and stage materials to meet production schedules.
  • Operate additional fabrication equipment, including press brakes, bandsaws, and other production machinery as needed.
  • Cut and process parts in accordance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and internal standards.
  • Stage completed parts for downstream manufacturing processes and ensure proper flow through the shop.
  • Assist with prototype, custom, and sample part production to support new product development and customer requests.
  • Perform dimensional inspections to verify that parts meet specified tolerances and requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions to produce accurate parts.
  • Monitor production quality, identify defects or process issues, and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with leadership and production teams to resolve quality concerns and implement improvements.
  • Ensure all finished products meet customer expectations and company quality standards.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on laser machinery and related equipment.
  • Monitor tooling and consumable inventory for laser equipment and report replenishment needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Follow all safety procedures, use required safety equipment, and contribute to a positive safety culture.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.
