Department: Livingston Forming
Shift: 3a-3p Monday - Thursday and possible Fridays
Union Payrate: $19.05
Summary
This position requires the trainee to be able follow all machine operational safety procedures. The trainee will be familiarized with all mechanical functions of all cutting, printing, and gluing machines. The trainee will also be familiarized with all mechanical functions of various styles of folding paper boxes and trays. In addition, the trainee must be able to recognize faulty boxes, such as not cut or creased properly, printing is not in registration, printing is not clean and sharp, and not folded or glued properly. Finally, the trainee must be able to maintain the basic operation of the above equipment.
Requirements
  • Protective Equipment Required: Safety glasses, ear plugs, bump cap, steel toe shoes, hair net, beard net, gloves, facemask.
  • Essential Knowledge: Knowledge in understanding job jackets, operate powered industrial trucks and pallet jacks
  • General: Compliance with workplace rules, policies and procedures, SQF, safety, etc.

Essential/Marginal Functions
  • Essential:
    • Start and Stop the machine, remove machine paper jams.
    • Feed and catch / inspect on all cartons.
    • Learn make ready procedures.
    • Learn to navigate and trouble shoot the glue systems.
  • Marginal:
    • May be required to empty trash carts at compactor or baler room.
    • Other duties as assigned.
