Job description

This position leads enhancements to data quality management platform and analyzes data for accuracy. Responsible for implementing business solutions that use data to streamline processes. Uses data profiling of additional data sources in determining accuracy and identifying automation opportunities. Independently partners with business users and IT to document business requirements and translates into actionable data modeling, data movement and translation programs. Works under minimal supervision and escalates to manager when appropriate.
What you will do:
  • Leads enhancements to data quality management platforms and analyzes data for accuracy including assigning new reference data when needed
  • Maintains data integrity to ensure compliance with data governance processes
  • Responsible for implementing business solutions that use data to streamline processes; includes data mapping and validation
  • Uses data profiling of additional data sources in determining accuracy and finding automation opportunities
  • Independently works with business users and IT to develop data requirements including transformation requirements between systems
  • Create basic dashboards and workflows in support of business needs, including Tableau, KNIME and Structured Query Language (SQL) queries
  • Serves as liaison between the business and ETL developers, data modelers and IT programmers related to business specific technical specifications
  • Targets opportunities to minimize risk and eliminate data redundancy
  • Keeps up on current data related technologies
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

  • Bachelor's Degree - Required
  • 4 - 6 years typical experience in SQL and data visualization. - Required
  • Proficient in Structured Query Language (SQL). - Preferred
  • Ability to build advanced Tableau dashboards. - Preferred
  • Demonstrated project management skills, especially pertaining to technical projects and vague or unknown initial requirements. -
  • Proven excellent relationship-building skills regarding IT functions (e.g., programmers, data modelers, data architects, etc.). -
  • Possesses and displays excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey information to internal and external customers in a clear, focused and concise manner. -
  • Proven strong analytical skills, including demonstrated experience identifying and quantifying problems and providing effective resolutions with the ability to conceptualize and use new methodologies. Must have the ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. -
  • Superior data access skills; access, transform and manipulate internal and external data in its base form. -
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data-related tools and industry standards (ETL, business intelligence, report writing, SQL reporting services, Crystal Reports, etc.). -
  • Integration tools (DTS, SSIS, Informatica, etc.) preferred. -
  • Microsoft Office suite of products. -
  • Data-related certifications Upon Hire - Preferred

Work Setting/Position Demands:

  • Works in an office setting and remains in a stationary position for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings.
  • Requires the ability to verbally communicate and exchange accurate information to customers and associates on a regular basis.
  • Requires visual acuity to read and interpret a variety of correspondence, procedures, reports and forms via paper and electronic documents, visual inspection involving small defects; small parts, and/or operation of machinery (including inspection); using measurement devices continuously. Visual acuity is required to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned.
  • Requires the ability to prepare written correspondence, reports and forms using prescribed formats and conforming to rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style on a regular basis.
  • Requires the ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Performs substantial movement of wrists, hands, and fingers for continuous computer work.
  • Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects/events.
  • Occasional after-hours work needed
