Job description

Description
The University of Chicago's Department of Surgery, Section of Urology, is searching for full-time faculty members at any rank on the School of Medicine track. Appointees will have inpatient and outpatient responsibilities to support and complement the faculty in Urology at the Hyde Park location and affiliated sites depending on the department's needs. Clinical duties include treating, evaluating, and providing patient care to the urology program, ambulatory procedures, state-of-the-art surgery, and call. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.
The Section of Urology excels in robotic and laparoscopic treatments for both cancerous and non-cancerous urologic conditions, with national expertise in bladder cancer, prostate issues, reconstructive surgery, kidney stones, and pediatric urology. The program includes practice activities on the main campus in Hyde Park as well as at Orland Park and the South Loop; outpatient facilities are located in River East; the Ingalls Health System, which has integrated into our network; a multispecialty care facility in Northwest Indiana; and affiliated clinics at Advent Health. Appointees may be assigned to one or more of these locations.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate (MD) or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois and Indiana, and 3) be Board certified or eligible with the American Board of Urology or equivalent.
