Oncology Rn Opportunity At Virginia Oncology Associates

Virginia Oncology Associates, the largest group of medical professionals in Hampton Roads and Northeast North Carolina devoted exclusively to cancer care and blood disorders, has an exciting opportunity for an Oncology RN to support our office in Norfolk.

Compensation Range: $31.85 - $64.75. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as, relevant experience, education, certifications, licensure, and skills that align with the role.

Responsibilities
  • Administers chemotherapy, hydration, and other medications under the direction and supervision of a physician
  • Assesses and monitors therapy of patients using appropriate technical skills under the direction and supervision of a physician
  • Assesses patients for changes in condition, including but not limited to abnormal labs, x-rays, scans and drug reactions. Initiates appropriate action.
  • Performs venipuncture, accesses implanted ports and maintains central venous access devices and alternate delivering systems
  • Maintains efficient and appropriate patient flow
  • Phone triage as assigned
  • Documents all elements of care
  • Serves as a resource to the Medical Assistants
  • Communicates all pertinent information and any interventions to the physician or advanced practice provider
  • Assesses patient and family needs
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education required; BSN preferred
  • Oncology experience strongly preferred
  • Current RN state license required
  • Current BCLS certification required
  • OCN certification preferred
  • Must be willing to travel between offices as needed
