Job description

Function : A person who participates in the administration of nursing and welfare; she participates in certain diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive procedures, completes the management files, in particular those present on Télémédic, confirms the execution of her tasks in Télémédic and performs all other tasks related to her profession. She provides residents with the nursing acts that she is authorized to perform by her employer under the Act and the regulations governing her and all other related tasks. She is a member of the Professional Order of Nurses and Auxiliary Nurses of Quebec.

The nursing assistant also performs the tasks of person in charge when the department heads are not present. Among other things, and without limitation, she supervises the work of the beneficiary attendants by ensuring, among other things, that the tasks of the beneficiary attendants have indeed been completed on Telemedic. The licensed practical nurse must also help the beneficiary attendants if necessary and she must ask them to go and assist other attendants, on another floor, if necessary.

It is the duty of the nursing assistant, at the start of the shift, to assign the PABs to the floors in the event of a shortage of staff, and subsequently to participate in the interdepartmental report.
