As our Board Certified or Board Eligible Infectious Disease Physician, you will join our dedicated team at CommonSpirit Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. Every day you will be responsible for the comprehensive diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of a wide spectrum of infectious diseases. You will manage complex patient cases across both inpatient and outpatient settings, contributing significantly to infection control strategies and promoting judicious antimicrobial use. Your clinical expertise will cover our Chattanooga campus, with remote coverage of our North Georgia and Hixson, TN campuses. This role offers a predictable Monday - Friday schedule, with a 1:4 call rotation, ensuring a balanced professional and personal life.

To be successful in your role, you will be a Board Certified or Board Eligible Infectious Disease Physician with a commitment to clinical excellence and a passion for managing complex infectious conditions. 

  • Diagnosing and managing bacterial, viral, fungal, parasitic, and mycobacterial infections across various patient populations.
  • Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for optimal patient outcomes.
  • Providing expert consultations to other medical specialties regarding all aspects of infectious disease management.
  • Managing immunocompromised patients with specialized care.
  • Performing and interpreting relevant diagnostic tests to guide treatment decisions.
  • Collaborating closely with infection prevention teams to identify, investigate, and control healthcare-associated infections and outbreaks.
  • Advising on isolation precautions, sterilization, and disinfection practices to enhance patient safety.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely medical records, and communicating effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
