Trainee Rig Move Jobs in Houston, TX (NOW HIRING)

The primary responsibility of the MWD Field Specialist Trainee is to participate in structured training, develop new skills, and demonstrate increasing proficiency in MWD Field Specialist responsibilities. Within the 12-week training program, the trainee is expected to learn how to operate, troubleshoot, and repair MWD equipment with little to no supervision while maintaining a strong commitment to safety.
Detailed Description:

• Make sound, timely decisions that support operations while maintaining a safe work environment
• Work with an emphasis on individual safety and safety for others, including coworkers and third parties
• Maintain situational awareness on location and safely navigate work areas with moving equipment and other hazards
• Learn to identify and accurately inventory all required tools on location
• Become proficient in tool assembly, and surface equipment rig-up
• Remain on the wellsite for the duration of directional operations or until released by the customer or supervisor
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and perform necessary repairs on equipment during drilling operations
• Become proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other software applications required to perform the job
• Learn to accurately validate and qualify survey data
• Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
• Work independently and prioritize tasks based on operational needs
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with coworkers, internal and external customers, and third parties
• Bend, stoop, kneel, twist, and crawl throughout the work shift
• Demonstrate clear communication skills including the ability to read, write and speak English as well as understand and promptly follow verbal and written instructions in English
• Clearly judge near and far distances to maintain awareness of, watch and report ongoing work activities to coworkers and third parties
• Able to discuss and explain job details (current and past job runs)
• Ability to receive and follow directions from multiple managers, coordinators, and trainers
• Willingness to work extended schedules, including additional days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Maintain a reliable vehicle capable of traveling long distances, including in unfavorable road conditions

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least six months of stable work history, military service, or enrollment in a technical school or university within the past 12 months
• Must be able to meet requirements of Company's Vehicle Use Agreement and Driving Policy

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
• Oilfield related work history
• Electrical, mechanical, or shop experience a plus

Additional Details:
This position requires working in a variety of environments, including offices, shops, and remote well-site locations, often for periods of 20 or more consecutive days. The role involves exposure to all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, and both day and night operations. Employees are expected to properly wear and use all required personal protective equipment (PPE). The position also requires regular sitting, standing, walking, bending, and occasional lifting from floor to overhead level, as well as frequent near-vision work while using computers, telephones, and other office equipment.
