Job Summary

The Power Generation Interface Specialist works collaboratively with Electric Transmission and Power Generation organizations to support the reliable, compliant, and efficient operation of generation interconnection assets and associated protection and control systems. This role partners with engineering, operations, maintenance, compliance, cyber security, and field personnel to resolve technical issues, improve asset performance, support regulatory compliance, and facilitate the transition to evolving generation technologies.


Key Responsibilities:
   Providing technical support and guidance on Power Generation-related compliance, maintenance, operations, protection schemes, and control system modifications.
   Advising Power Generation Engineering on maintenance strategies, testing requirements, and documentation necessary to demonstrate compliance.
   Serving as a subject matter expert for generation protection schemes, panel designs, standards, and associated technical requirements.
   Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify, investigate, and mitigate improper operations, equipment failures, and Human Performance events.
   Identifying technical issues that impact both Electric Transmission and Power Generation and supporting the development of mitigation strategies.
   Supporting Electric Transmission and Power Generation organizations with CIP compliance requirements and management of transient cyber asset documentation.
   Providing technical consultation and support to field personnel and engineering teams to resolve complex operational and maintenance challenges.
   Evaluating emerging technologies and recommending improvements to maintenance programs, asset management practices, and system performance.
   Supporting workforce and workload planning associated with the transition from conventional generation resources to renewable and solar generation technologies.
   Developing and delivering training materials for System Protection technicians and trainees, including core curriculum and specialized continuing education.
   Preparing and presenting technical reports, risk assessments, compliance updates, and recommendations to leadership.
   Coordinating and facilitating recurring Power Generation and Electric Transmission interface meetings to address technical concerns, align priorities, and support issue resolution.
   Supporting the development and implementation of standards, procedures, and best practices that enhance reliability, compliance, safety, and operational excellence.
   Building and maintaining effective working relationships across Power Generation, Electric Transmission, Operations, Engineering, Compliance, Cyber Security, and field organizations.
   Performing other duties as needed

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and education required for entry into this job include the following:


Directly related experience, typically 5+ years Experience in power generation protection scheme and operations Proficient strengths required in the following areas at a minimum: 
   Technical Design Analysis Experience
   Time Pressure Troubleshooting
   Operational Diagnostics Understanding relay operations with an ability to quickly interpret relay targets to understand the root cause of technical issues.
   Familiarity with Dominion Energy's Regulated and Merchant generation fleet   Knowledge and experience in conflict management and resolution between business units.
   Technical negotiation skills required. 
   Previous supervisory skills are highly desired
   Excellent verbal and written communication; 
   Strong organizational planning

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

Bachelor

Preferred Discipline(s): Engineering Technology, Physics, Biology, Computer Engineering

Expected Hiring Base Salary Range:

$90900 - $118100

The expected hiring base salary range is the range we anticipate hiring within for this position. The actual salary offered may vary based on factors such as the selected candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, and work location.
