Job description

Description:

Basic Function:

Responsible for properly & safely clean castings, through the use of grinders and blending tools to remove, and blend parting lines, chill marks, ingates, etc. Operator will utilize work instructions, bench castings and route and product information sheets to produce castings that meet customer requirements.


Physical Requirements:

Maximum Lift Weight 50 #

Maximum Push/Pull Weight 100 #

% Of Time Sitting 60%

% Of Time Standing 40%

Exposed to Severe Weather Conditions: No


Responsibilities:

  1. Accurate scanning in and out on jobs and the proper reporting of processed quantities.
  2. Wear proper safety equipment; keep work area clean and safe at all times.
  3. Understand customer requirements, our companies internal scrap challenges, rework, customer returns, the impact they have on your job and demonstrate ability to deliver quality & efficient workmanship.
  4. Review & inspect all material being used, building self-inspection into everything you make/process.
  5. Complete, date and sign-off on all routing information.
  6. Perform job tasks in an efficient manner according to given standards.
  7. Use grinding wheels to remove ingate and riser pads.
  8. Blend any surface that does not meet 250 surface finish using grinders and blending tools.
  9. Complete routing, sign and date and fill out production paperwork and inspection procedures as required.
  10. Follow job orders and written and verbal instructions for product specifications such as finishes, dimensions, tolerances, number of parts, fixtures and grinding wheels to be used.
  11. Maintain tools, gages and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
  12. Clean work area throughout day as required.
  13. Report any problems or discrepancies to immediate supervisor.
