Role Overview
We are seeking an Application Architect for a Hadoop Admin Ops / SRE role. This position supports next-generation platforms built around Big Data technologies. The role involves the full life cycle of an application and requires the ability to develop, engineer, and communicate collaboratively with clients, development teams, and other partners at a high technical level.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide subject matter expertise in managing Hadoop and Data Science Platform operations, with a focus on Cloudera Hadoop, Jupyter Notebook, Openshift, and Docker-Container Cluster Management.
  • Manage platform operations across all environments, including upgrades, bug fixes, deployments, and metrics monitoring for resolution and forecasting.
  • Handle disaster recovery, incident management, problem management, and capacity management.
  • Integrate solutions with other applications and platforms outside the existing framework.
  • Serve as a liaison between client partners and vendors to provide technical solutions that address user needs.
  • Work on complex or highly visible tasks in support of multiple projects that require diverse areas of expertise.
  • Analyze various Hadoop log files and work with compression, encoding, and file formats.
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of Hadoop Architecture, HDFS, Hadoop Cluster management, and the Hadoop Administrator's role.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Cloudera Hadoop components such as HDFS, Sentry, HBase, Kafka, Impala, SOLR, Hue, Spark, Hive, YARN, and Zookeeper.
  • Proficiency with Unix/Linux, databases (Sybase/SQL/Oracle), Java, Python, Perl, and shell scripting.
  • Experience with automation and DevOps tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, SVN, and Bitbucket.
  • Hands-on experience with Big Data technologies including Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Impala, and HBase.
  • Familiarity with fully integrated AD/Kerberos authentication.
  • Knowledge of debugging YARN.
  • Experience with monitoring, alerting, and job scheduling systems.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Cloudera Admin or Developer Certification.
  • Certification in Cloud, Docker-Container, or Openshift technologies.
