Overview

SUMMER 2027

Shure offers a challenging, fun, and rewarding summer internship program. The twelve-week program is offered to undergraduate and graduate students. We offer internships with a variety of work arrangements from onsite interns to fully remote in US. Each intern will receive a competitive salary. Additionally, Interns who are asked to relocate to Illinois for onsite internships will receive a housing stipend to cover living expenses. Applications will be collected, reviewed, and selected candidates will be contacted in late fall/early winter.

Working under the supervision of Engineering Manager and Mentor, the Application Software Engineer Intern assists with developing, and testing platform independent (Windows, Mac, Linux) middleware solutions that controls and manages cutting edge audio products and networking technologies. 

This internship will be Remote or Hybrid, based in Niles, IL. 

Responsibilities

Implement business logic for operating system independent application software that controls and manages audio products and digital signal processing software

Prototype application software using technologies such as Typescript, Angular, NodeJS, C++

Focused on designing, creating, and testing high quality code

Estimates, organizes, and documents tasks under supervision of mentors

Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • In-process of a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Software Engineering or related field, with a minimum of two years of engineering coursework
  • Possess an understanding of key software design principles such as separation of concerns, high cohesion, and low coupling to facilitate reuse and maintainability in software architectures, designs and implementations; ability to decompose large, complex software systems into manageable subsystems with clearly defined interfaces
  • Development experience Javascript/Typescript is a plus
  • Development experience with C++ is a plus
  • Development experience with Angular is a plus
  • Familiar with writing unit tests to ensure high quality code
  • Able to apply company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues
  • Able to follow standard instructions, practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data
