Summary


We pay you to train you! This program is a six-week course that focuses on service fundamentals to provide the trainee with a foundation on which to build a career in the residential facility service industry. Under the trainer's supervision, the Technician Trainee will participate in classroom/lab instructions and on-property hands-on projects/lessons. Once you graduate from the program, you will be promoted to a Service Technician role and assigned to one of the various apartment communities in Virginia.

The Service Technician Trainee will report to the Service Training Supervisor. They will train to perform maintenance duties, repairs, and other duties as assigned, at various apartment complexes within the region. Compliance with all environmental and OSHA regulations and company policies. Completing and maintaining paperwork as required.

Responsibilities

A. Repair or install appliances, complex HVAC needs, plumbing, electrical, and some carpentry in residential apartments.

B. Provide excellent customer service to residents and team.

C. Maintain documentation for work orders.

Requirements

Education: HS Diploma or equivalent

Experience: Experience with appliances and HVAC installation, trouble shooting, and repair.

Knowledge: Must have EPA 608 Certification Type II or Universal.

Skills: 

A. Must be able to read, write, and speak English proficiently.

B. Must have intermediate computer operation including but not limited to accessing data from the internet.

C. Must have basic skills using Microsoft Office products.

D. Must have effective communication, allowing you to disseminate the necessary information in the quickest and most accurate way possible.

E. Must have effective organizational skills that allow you to respond to inquiries with minimal effort and locate information quickly.

F. Must have the ability to use various hand and power tools.

H. Respond calmly in situations of conflict and stress.

I. Adapt to changes in daily work.

J. Problem solves in a timely manner

K. Must be able to drive to various apartment locations throughout the day.

L. Must have a valid driver's license. 

M. Must be able to lift to 100 lbs. 

N. Must be able to bend, crouch, squat, kneel, crawl, reach above and below shoulder, repetitive arm, and wrist movement. 

O. Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.


A valid driver's license and proof of insurance required, along with a passing criminal background check and pre - employment drug testing.
