Job description

Description
As a Civil CAD Drafter, you will be the bridge between engineering concepts and constructible reality. You will work closely with Project Engineers to develop detailed site plans, grading designs, and utility layouts for Commercial, Retail, Industrial, Healthcare, and Education projects. We are looking for someone who doesn't just "move lines," but understands the spatial constraints and regulatory requirements of land development.
Hourly Rate: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Additional benefits include medical plans, dental, vision, employee life insurance, 401(k), Flexible Spending Accounts, paid time off, paid holidays and tuition reimbursement.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan Production: Prepare full sets of civil construction documents, including Site Plans, Grading & Drainage Plans, Utility Plans, Erosion Control, and Detail Sheets.
  • Modeling: Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to create surfaces, alignments, profiles, and pipe networks.
  • Drafting Standards: Maintain and apply company CAD standards to ensure consistency and quality across all deliverables.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with engineers to incorporate redline markups and adjust designs based on feedback from jurisdictional reviews.
  • Data Management: Incorporate topographic surveys, GIS data, and architectural footprints into project base files.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is non-negotiable (specifically surfaces and pipe networks).
  • Experience: 2-5 years of experience in civil site development or a related field.
  • Knowledge Base: Understanding of basic civil engineering principles (e.g., how water flows across a graded surface and how gravity sewers function).
  • Detail Oriented: Ability to catch labeling errors, overlapping lines, and scale discrepancies before submittal.
  • Education: Associate degree in CAD, Drafting, or Civil Engineering Technology (or equivalent professional experience).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu for document management and markups.
  • Familiarity with local municipal codes and permitting processes.
  • Experience with Vehicle Tracking or Stormwater modeling software.
