Job description

Kadiak, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Java Developer with a TS/SCI security clearance to support Kadiak and our government customer in Vienna, VA. This position offers a hybrid work schedule (4 days onsite, 1 days telework). This is a surge position.

The Intermediate Developer is responsible for the design, documentation, development, modification, testing, deployment, and support for new or existing IT application software on Unclassified, Secret and Top Secret enclaves. Development currently uses the Agile Scrum Methodology to gather requirements, develop, deliver, and maintain software applications.
Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Accurately represent customer requirements, i.e., gather and interpret relevant data and information, using excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Write and maintain advanced scripts using Java, JavaScript. XQuery, Python, HTML, SQL or any other scripting languages approved by the Government.
  • Analyze functional business applications and design specifications for functional areas and develop block diagrams and logic flow charts.
  • Translate detailed designs into computer software.
  • Test, fix, and refine the computer software to produce the required product.
  • Enhance software to reduce operating time or improve efficiency.
  • Provide technical direction to programmers to ensure program deadlines are met.
  • Assist Applications Engineer and Applications Programmer to interpret software requirements, design specifications to code, integrate, and test software components.
  • Develop advanced system specifications.
  • Participate in the design of software tools and subsystems to support reuse and domain analysis.
  • Assist Applications Engineer and Applications Programmer to interpret software requirements, design specifications to code, integrate, and test software components.

Required Skills and Competencies:
  • 4+ years related experience
  • Must be able to demonstrate working in an operational environment where priorities change frequently.
  • Must be able to demonstrate expertise in information system design, including application programming on large-scale database management services and the development of complex software to satisfy design objectives.
  • Prefer expertise working with NoSQL databases.
  • Prefer Java Programmer Certified.

Additional Requirements:
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly
  • Ability to work on-site in Vienna, VA (3 days per week)
  • Experience with AWS cloud environments
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong documentation and communication abilities

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
