Position Summary:The Sr. Java Developer supports the sustainment, correction, enhancement, testing, implementation, and technical documentation of FEMA's eCAPS application. Works with the Sr. Java Developer, Project Manager, Business Analyst/Tester, FEMA technical personnel, and system stakeholders to maintain stable application operations and implement approved changes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, correct, test, and document approved eCAPS software changes, enhancements, defect resolutions, and security remediations.
  • Support Java/JDK, Oracle 19c, WebLogic, RHEL, FEIMS, SFS, and IFMIS-related application functions and interfaces.
  • Conduct unit testing, maintain source code and configuration records, and support integration, user acceptance, performance, and security testing.
  • Prepare or update design documents, test cases, system manuals, release materials, implementation plans, and training documentation.
  • Support Tier III issue resolution, production releases, application monitoring, and optional disaster-response surge activities when authorized.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting Java-based enterprise applications and associated development, testing, deployment, or sustainment activities.
  • Experience with Java, Oracle databases, SQL, WebLogic, or comparable enterprise application technologies.
  • Ability to analyze defects, implement approved corrections, conduct unit testing, and maintain technical documentation.
  • Ability to comply with DHS/FEMA security, configuration management, records management, and Section 508 requirements.
  • Federal experience is preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
