About the Role


We are seeking a hands-on and technically driven Controls Engineer to join our engineering team and support the development of advanced manufacturing equipment. This role will focus on designing, developing, testing, and sustaining control systems for cutting-edge process and test platforms. The successful candidate will work across embedded controls, automation, software, electronics, and system integration, helping deliver high-performance equipment solutions used in semiconductor applications worldwide. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong controls experience who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and enjoys taking ownership of complex capital equipment projects.



Responsibilities


  • Design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and document embedded electrical control systems for advanced process equipment.
  • Develop high-level control software applications and low-level embedded firmware as required.
  • Design and support custom microcontroller-based PCB solutions, including ARM-based platforms.
  • Develop and validate automated test systems to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Support troubleshooting activities for manufacturing and field service teams.
  • Work closely with electrical, mechanical, software, and process engineering teams to integrate complete equipment solutions.
  • Support automation, safety systems, and equipment validation activities.



Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience developing and testing control systems within process equipment, vacuum systems, robotics, or similar industries.
  • Strong programming experience in C/C++ and automated test development environments.
  • Experience designing and troubleshooting embedded control systems.
  • Experience with automation systems, including cluster tools, robotics, and complex equipment architectures.
  • Familiarity with PLC programming and modular automation platforms.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills with the ability to work across multiple engineering disciplines.

Pay range and compensation package


Base salary $110,000 - $125,000. Competitive compensation package including comprehensive benefits, retirement plans, healthcare, and bonus opportunities.
