Summary of Job Duties:
The EAC is seeking talented student researchers for the academic semester. The student researchers will participate in project development of EAC relevant fields such as interactive immersive technologies or cyber security. The position can be extended to future semesters. Students are expected to have an adequate background in software-development processes or digital workflows. The position is governed by state and federal laws.
Qualifications:
Required Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher education;
  • Regular admission to a UA Little Rock graduate degree program or good standing with the UA Little Rock Graduate School for continuing graduate students;
  • Ability to work the required hours (FT-50% - 20 hours per week/PT-25% - 10 hours per week) with regular attendance

Preferred Education and/or Experience:
  • Enrolled in a relevant graduate program (e.g., Computer/Information Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field)Strong background in (real-time) computer graphics, game engines, human-computer interaction, or machine learning.
  • Experience in software-development processes or digital workflows preferred

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Participate in supervised as well as non-supervised research and development of EAC projects

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficient in advanced computer literacy including automation technologies
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, or JavaScript.
  • We expect familiarity with one or more of the following:
  • Experience with computer-graphics APIs (e.g., OpenGL, DirectX, Vulkan) and frameworks (e.g., Unity, Unreal) or interactive software frameworks (e.g., Flutter/Kotlin, Angular JS)
  • Machine-learning software frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and data analysis techniques.
  • For Cyber Security web development, data bases, machine learning, and cloud API's
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and a passion for research.
  • Familiarity with reading and analyzing scientific publications and writing project documentation
  • Applicants are encouraged to provide samples of their previous experiences (e.g., software repositories, published papers, portfolios)
