Job description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Swiss Lathe Operator to join our manufacturing team in Jamestown, NY. The ideal candidate will have experience setting up, operating, and maintaining Swiss-style CNC machines to produce high-precision components that meet strict quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC Swiss-style lathes (e.g., Citizen, Star, Tsugami, or similar)
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and job travelers
  • Load raw material and ensure proper tooling and offsets are set
  • Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency
  • Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot minor machine issues and collaborate with setup technicians or supervisors for more complex problems
  • Maintain clean and organized work area in accordance with safety standards
  • Document production activity and quality checks accurately
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED (technical certification preferred)
  • Experience operating CNC Swiss machines
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
  • Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
  • Familiarity with precision measuring tools
  • Basic understanding of CNC programming and G-code (preferred)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay is between $22-$28 hr. Hours are 7 am to 330 pm or 6 am to 230 pm
