Academic Adult Outpatient Psychiatrist, Rank DOQ - University of Utah Health (HMHI) Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine - Psychiatry

The Huntsman Mental Health Institute and the Adult Psychiatry Division in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Utah Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine are looking for dedicated full‑time Outpatient Adult Psychiatrists to join their faculty. The role will provide outpatient clinical services at the Huntsman Mental Health Institute (HMHI) and at satellite outpatient clinics along the Wasatch Front.

Qualifications
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Utah or eligibility to apply for one.
  • Completion of a residency in Psychiatry and board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry (board certification required for retention).
  • Expertise in adult outpatient psychiatry.
Responsibilities
  • Clinical care: Provide excellent outpatient psychiatry services. Deliver clinical care for all faculty members, including call duty and cross‑coverage for vacations and meetings. Specific assignments coordinated through the Adult Psychiatry Division Chief.
  • Investigation: Engage in scholarly activities and develop durable materials such as papers, courses, presentations, posters, and games.
  • Education: Provide patient care activities with learners—residents, medical students, fellows, and trainees from other disciplines; serve as mentor and supervise students and residents during psychiatric clinical rotations.
  • Administration: Perform administrative duties associated with clinical care, participate in departmental and school committees, and undergo annual review by the Division Chief as part of faculty appointment.
  • The percentage of effort spent in clinical, education, investigation, and administrative activities will be negotiated annually.
