Job description

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Plan, design, develop CNC manufacturing process for current and future components production as well as production of tooling.

  • Design processes and equipment related to the manufacturing of products or services that are cost effective at approved levels of quality and within quoted specifications.
  • Implement process designs, creating prototypes, testing, making necessary modifications where required.
  • Assess safety requirements and ensure these are integrated into the process.
  • Work closely with other professionals on development and research projects.
  • Integrate new technology or environmentally friendly practices into existing processes.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Participate in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to stay apprised of new developments in the field.
  • Develop and conduct training programs on the safe operations of the equipment, and demonstrate skills to trainees, including both team members and customers.
  • Negotiate price, terms, and conditions with outside suppliers used to meet project needs.
  • Develop models of alternate processing methods to test feasibility of new applications of system components and recommend implementation of improved procedures.
  • Provide detailed documentation of a job including tool and fixture drawings, definition of setup, and operational procedures.
Required Skill/Knowledge
  • A solid foundation in engineering concepts is a vital Process Engineer requirement.
  • Knowledge of the product or services and the industry in which he/she is operating.
  • Familiarity with OSHA and EPA principles.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as a keen attention to detail.
  • Project management, leadership and teamwork skills are important to ensure that all factors come together to complete an assignment on time.
Preferred Skills/ Knowledge
  • Experience requirements vary according to job requirements and industry. Certifications may include Professional Engineer Licence (P.Eng), Certified Professional Engineer (PE), Six Sigma qualifications and Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Automotive manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Proficient with AutoCad or similar programs.
Education Level / Required Certification

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related science field.
