Our Northeast Division is a well-respected and award-winning group where career development, training, and mentoring co-exist with diverse civil, environmental, water resources, and traffic/transportation projects in a fast-paced and rewarding work environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and direct the preparation of studies, design and construction bid documents for traffic-related transportation (roadway) projects addressing traffic challenges and multi-modal (Complete Streets) needs along corridors and intersections.
  • Provide technical direction, expertise and mentoring relating to traffic analysis models (using Synchro, PTV Vissim, etc.), traffic signal design and specification preparation, traffic management plan design, and signs and pavement markings design.
  • Maintain strong oversight of project financials and budgets, schedules, and overall project progress.
  • Effectively present at meetings with clients and the public
  • Manage/mentor staff and provide guidance, manage workloads, and provide issue resolution
  • Prepare project scopes and budgets for proposals and contracts
  • Maintain communication with clients including municipalities and regional agencies
  • Build existing and new client relationships to generate project opportunities

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering
  • 8 + years of experience in the traffic/transportation engineering field comprised of traffic-related models, studies, design and project management
  • Knowledge of traffic study and design standards, specifically standards and submission processes for state agencies including MassDOT
  • Expertise in traffic modeling, including Synchro, and traffic signal design
  • Professional Engineering License in Massachusetts, or ability to obtain reciprocity in Massachusetts within one year
  • Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification a plus
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in planning and managing projects as well as maintaining budgets and schedules
  • Must be skilled at building and maintaining positive client relations
  • Must be motivated with desire for personal growth and advancement, as well as firm growth
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a collaborative team environment
  • Effective at managing and mentoring staff
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving history
