Employment Type: Per Diem / As-Needed (Long-Term, Ongoing Opportunity)
Target Radius: Candidates must reside within 30 miles of assigned location

Position Overview

This is a highly flexible, per diem long-term opportunity designed for individuals looking to earn supplemental income on an ongoing basis. While this is not a traditional full-time or contract position, it is a stable, recurring opportunity with long-term potential based on performance and availability.

The Per Diem Traffic Associate (Sampler) supports food safety and quality programs by collecting product samples from a variety of client locations, including manufacturers, processors, warehouses, and distribution facilities.

This role is ideal for a flexible side gig—perfect for individuals who want autonomy, variety, and the ability to choose assignments based on their availability. There are no guaranteed hours, but consistent opportunities may be available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect food product samples from client facilities, public warehouse, cold storage facilities following established SOPs and protocols
  • Accurately complete all sample documentation, including IDs, photos, collection details and chain of custody documentation
  • Ensure proper handling, labeling, and integrity of collected samples
  • Complete required logs, transmittals, and reporting forms
  • Safely transport sampling materials and equipment
  • Maintain assigned vehicle cleanliness and organization
  • Track petty cash and receipts when applicable
  • Communicate delays or field issues to the Traffic Manager/Supervisor
  • Maintain a professional appearance and customer-facing demeanor
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Position Objectives

  • Execute accurate and timely sample collection assignments
  • Maintain compliance with sampling SOP and internal QA standards
  • Ensure complete and accurate documentation for all collections
  • Operate independently while staying aligned with operational needs

Position Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical fieldwork (bend, kneel, crouch, etc.)

Compensation (Per Diem Structure)

This role offers competitive per diem earning potential based on assignments completed:

  • Sample Collection: $125 per per day)
  • Training Day Rate: $500 per full day
  • Partial Training Day: $250 per partial day
  • Safety / Meeting Training: $35 per hour
  • Travel Day Stipend: $75 per day (for qualifying travel-related assignments; excludes airfare/hotel, which are company-paid when applicable)
  • Mileage Reimbursement: IRS standard mileage rate when using a personal vehicle for approved business travel
