Job Summary:

Our operating unit provides underground utility services, and we are looking for a Traffic Control Designer to join our team.

This position requires organization, timeliness, accuracy and great focus to detail and safety.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design traffic control plans using ATSSA guidelines and MUTCD standards.
  • Utilize software such as Invarion or similar CAD-based programs for plan creation.
  • Review project specifications and site conditions to determine appropriate traffic control measures.
  • Coordinate with project managers and field supervisors to ensure plans are practical and executable.
  • Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Update and revise plan as needed based on field conditions or client requests.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to crews implementing traffic control setups.
  • Prepare documentation for permits and regulatory approvals.
  • Assist in estimating traffic control costs for bids and proposals.
  • Perform quality checks on implemented traffic control setups for compliance and safety.
  • Stay current on ATSSA standards, MUTCD updates, and industry best practices

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • ATSSA Traffic Control Design Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
  • Strong knowledge of MUTCD standards and local traffic control regulations.
  • Proficiency in traffic control design software (e.g., Invarion, AutoCAD).
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and site plans.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
