JOB PURPOSE
The Crushing & Conveying Operator provides support for the CHAP and El Russ crushers at the Cortez Mine Site. This role is responsible for maintaining the crushers to ensure optimal operational performance. The operator will operate the plant equipment and loaders, assist with plant cleanup, and perform maintenance and improvement tasks during periods of downtime.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform clean-up activities during scheduled downs
  • Remove and reinstall conveyor guarding as required to safely access clean-up areas
  • Shovel, rake, and hose debris from beneath the belt line
  • Stage all cleaned material in designated open crosscuts
  • Operate hand tools and cleaning equipment as required
  • Operate a skid steer when necessary to support clean-up activities
  • Follow all site safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and work standards
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices to support safe operations

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
  • Experience working in mining or industrial environments preferred
  • Ability to perform physically demanding labor, including shoveling and raking debris
  • Familiarity with conveyor systems and guarding preferred

Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
