About Us:
The Caturus platform was founded by Kimmeridge, an alternative asset manager focused on the energy sector, with subsequent additional investment by Mubadala Energy. Caturus is building an independent, fully integrated natural gas and LNG export platform in the U.S. through a combination of its upstream operations and Commonwealth LNG, a 9.5 Mtpa LNG export terminal in southwestern Louisiana. Together, they will provide low-cost energy on demand with the lowest carbon footprint.
Job Description
The Trader / Senior Trader is responsible for executing physical and/or financial natural gas transactions to optimize portfolio value and manage risk. This role involves developing and implementing trading strategies across Caturus' regional markets, managing supply and transportation positions, and identifying arbitrage opportunities.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Execute physical and/or financial natural gas sales and purchases across key markets
  • Manage daily and forward positions to optimize portfolio value and margin
  • Develop and implement trading strategies based on market fundamentals, flows, and pricing signals
  • Analyze supply/demand fundamentals, pipeline constraints, storage data, and weather impacts
  • Maintain a forward view of market conditions to guide strategic decisions
  • Collaborate with risk and middle office to ensure accurate valuation and risk reporting
  • Partner with schedulers to ensure accurate and timely execution of trades and nominations
  • Work with origination to structure transactions and support new commercial opportunities
  • Evaluate tariff structures, constraints, and capacity releases to improve margins
  • Provide regular market updates and trade rationale to leadership
  • Communicate market insights and portfolio positioning across commercial team
  • Build strong relationships with counterparties, pipelines, and market participants

Qualifications:
Education, Certificates, and Licenses:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, or a related discipline.

Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in the natural gas markets.
  • Experience working with multiple CAWs and ETRM systems a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
  • Understanding of upstream/downstream pipeline operations
  • Consistent ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organization / data management capabilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ETRMs and various CAWs
  • Ability to provide evening and weekend support as needed
