Job description

Are you ready to be a big part of something big?

At Trader Interactive, we make buying and selling a great experience. We're a group of go-getters who decided they didn't want to settle for the status quo. We come together as one team to build value and drive innovation across our industries - but we have fun while we do it and make sure our people are always our #1 priority.

When it comes to your career, we want to provide big opportunities to help you make a big impact. But for this to be possible, we strive to feel small. Small enough to quickly change tack, small enough to learn from different teams and small enough to connect authentically with leadership.

What We Offer

  • An inclusive and supportive work environment where you can move your career forward and will have the chance to do work that has real, significant impact on the world.

  • The opportunity to be a part of a global group of digital marketplace businesses (CAR Group) located across Australia, Brazil, Chile and South Korea - collectively we have around 2,500 team members worldwide, and our CAR Group Tour means you might just find yourself working in one of those businesses sometime soon.

  • Plenty of flexible leave options and employee benefits including up to 31 days of paid time off in your first year, continuing education with access to LinkedIn Learning, a full benefits package including medical, dental & vision, 401K with company match, and wellness program.

What You'll Do

At Trader Interactive, we're building the next generation of consumer data products — and AI is at the heart of it. We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer who doesn't just implement but helps shape how they should work: interrogating requirements, validating approaches with data, and delivering experiences that directly serve our product ambitions. You'll work closely with our Senior Product Manager and cross-functional teams, translating complex consumer data needs into infrastructure that is scalable, governed, and built to last.

  • Cloud architecture. Design and implement highly scalable, cost-effective systems using cloud technologies such as Databricks, AWS, Azure, GCP, and similar platforms.

  • Evidence-based design. Contribute to the product discovery process by benchmarking approaches, validating assumptions with data, and recommending solutions grounded in evidence rather than convention.

  • Data pipeline development. Build and maintain robust data pipelines using DAGs, Databricks, Apache Airflow, and Snowflake (and similar) to index and process large consumer datasets.

  • Code optimizations. Tune performance and relevance through query optimization, caching, and schema design.

  • API development. Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs that expose functionality to downstream clients and teams.

  • Observability and benchmarking. Implement monitoring and logging to track system health; conduct regular performance benchmarks and communicate findings clearly to product and business stakeholders.

  • Cross-team collaboration. Work across many competing priorities and teams, contributing to rollout planning and helping ensure engineering decisions align with product strategy and business cases.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong proficiency in Python, R, SQL, cloud development, and AI frameworks.

  • Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow).

  • Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

  • Experience with data governance practices and handling of private or sensitive consumer data.

So come and join our team - because every role is a big role in our plans to go big.

TI proudly supports a diverse workforce, and we encourage candidates from underrepresented groups to apply. Trader Interactive is an equal opportunity employer where hiring is based entirely on business needs, job requirements, and individual merit.
