What You'll Do:
  • Buy and sell energy in the hourly power market to balance the system.
  • Monitor market trends and identify opportunities to maximize value.
  • Forecast energy demand and coordinate with System Operators.
  • Dispatch power efficiently while ensuring system reliability.
  • Manage fuel and transmission needs for real-time operations.
  • Track transactions and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with trading partners.

What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, engineering, mathematics, energy management, data analytics, or a related field, or equivalent education, training, and experience.
  • Foundational proficiency with Microsoft Excel or similar business software.
  • Ability to work with data, identify basic trends, verify information, and summarize findings accurately.
  • Ability to learn energy market concepts, trading practices, scheduling procedures, commercial operations, and related systems.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Experience creating reports, dashboards, or data summaries.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
  • Availability to work a rotating 24-hour schedule that will require shift coverage on both nights and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in energy trading or system operations.
  • Familiarity with NERC, FERC, and SERC compliance regulations.
