About AQR Capital Management

AQR is a global investment management firm built at the intersection of financial theory and practical application. We strive to deliver superior, long-term results for our clients by seeking to filter out market noise to identify and isolate what matters most, and by developing ideas that stand up to rigorous testing. Underpinning this philosophy is an unrelenting commitment to excellence in technology - powering our insights and analysis. This unique combination has made us leaders in alternative and traditional strategies since 1998.

AQR takes a systematic, research-driven approach, applying quantitative tools to process fundamental information and manage risk. Our clients include institutional investors, such as pension funds, insurance companies, endowments, foundations and sovereign wealth funds, as well as financial advisors.

The Team:

AQR Global Trading Strategies group is responsible for trading of all AQR investment strategies. The group manages global trading of all major asset classes and instruments, including equities, credit, bonds, FX, futures, options, and swaps. The trading philosophy of the group is rooted in building expertise in liquidity sourcing and market structure across asset classes, systematically reviewing the factors that affect transaction costs, understanding the investment strategies and building systematic processes, transaction cost analysis, trading models and automated trading algorithms to minimize slippage, increase capacity and enhance returns of AQR investment strategies.

Your Role:

We are looking for an exceptionally talented individual to join our team as an Electronic Trading Analyst, focused on transaction cost analysis, execution measurement, electronic trading and market structure. The candidate will work as both a trader and execution analyst, participating in the execution process while analyzing execution performance across asset classes, understanding the drivers of transaction costs and liquidity, and identifying opportunities to improve trading outcomes. The candidate will work with large trading and market datasets to build analytical tools and systematically translate findings into improvements in execution strategy, algorithm selection and parameters, and trading workflows.

What You'll Bring:

  • Must have 1-3 years of relevant trading, electronic execution, or trading analytics experience
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline, Finance, Economics or related quantitative field, with a passion for markets
  • Must have a strong foundation in statistics, probability and quantitative analysis, with experience leveraging AI tools and technologies and working with large data sets
  • Must understand transaction cost analysis, execution measurement, market structure, liquidity and the factors that drive transaction costs
  • Must have exposure to electronic execution, trading algorithms and broker/venue analysis
  • Must have cash equity experience; familiarity across multiple electronically traded asset classes a plus
  • Knowledge of systematic investing principles and techniques a plus

Who You Are:

  • Highly analytical and intellectually curious, with the ability to turn large amounts of data into actionable trading insights
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented; able to manage multiple analyses and projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Mature and thoughtful, with the ability to operate in a collaborative, team-oriented culture
  • Creative, resourceful and driven, with a desire to understand not only how we traded, but why we achieved a particular outcome and how we can improve it
  • Highest level of integrity, empathy and character
  • Hard-working and eager to learn in a highly intellectual, innovative environment

The salary range for this role is expected to be $135,000 to $150,000.  This is the range that we in good faith believe is accurate for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, depending upon factors such as skills, experience, location, or other business and organizational needs.  This wage range may also be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.

We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), and any other benefits to eligible employees.

Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable. The amount and availability of any bonus, commission, benefits, or any other form of compensation and benefits that are allocable to a particular employee remains in the Company's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified at the Company's sole discretion, consistent with the law.
