About the Role:

The Trade Foreman plays a critical leadership role in overseeing and coordinating skilled trades personnel on construction or maintenance projects to ensure timely and quality completion. This position is responsible for managing daily operations on-site, including assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and maintaining safety standards. The Trade Foreman acts as a liaison between management, workers, and subcontractors to facilitate clear communication and resolve any issues that arise. They ensure that all work complies with project specifications, codes, and regulations while optimizing resource allocation and productivity. Ultimately, the Trade Foreman drives the successful execution of projects by combining technical expertise with strong leadership and organizational skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a skilled trade within the construction or industrial sector.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory or foreman experience managing a team of trades workers.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical certification or vocational training in a relevant trade.
  • OSHA 30-hour safety certification or equivalent safety training.
  • Experience with project management software and digital reporting tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Previous experience working in a unionized environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of skilled trades workers to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
  • Assign daily tasks and monitor work progress to ensure efficient use of labor and materials.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety regulations on-site.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to address technical challenges and workflow issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of labor hours, materials used, and work completed for reporting purposes.
  • Conduct regular inspections to verify workmanship and adherence to project specifications.
  • Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to trades personnel to enhance team performance.
  • Manage equipment and tool inventory, ensuring proper maintenance and availability.
