The Financial Reporting Analyst will be required to work cross-functionally to drive the preparation of Skyward Group's GAAP and SEC reporting deliverables, including iXBRL tagging, ensuring compliance with GAAP and SEC reporting rules. This role will also partner closely with our U.K. accounting team to coordinate financial reporting deliverables. They will be highly engaged with the internal and external audit teams and will assist with the coordination of internal and external audit deliverables. The Financial Reporting Analyst will also provide support for technical accounting functions, including share-based compensation.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of various SEC filings and press releases (i.e. 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K) by established deadlines.
  • Reporting and analysis of key financial metrics and delivery of insightful, in-depth discussion and analysis of the key elements and drivers of the business.
  • Assist with iXBRL tagging
  • Prepare tie-outs of various SEC filings including financial statement footnotes, MD&A and press releases with supporting schedules.
  • Prepare quarterly cash flow statement.
  • Prepare entries related to equity transactions and stock-based compensation.
  • Prepare EPS and Adjusted EPS calculations
  • Assist with the preparation of audit deliverables.
  • Assist with accounting guidance research.
  • Coordinate financial reporting deliverables with our U.K. accounting team.
  • Additional duties based on business needs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities.

  • Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficient in reviewing financial data.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of business operations, objectives, and metrics.
  • Works cohesively in a team-oriented environment with Corporate and Insurance Accounting, FP&A and others.
  • Strong initiative to research issues, develop potential solutions, and effectively partner with other business areas to drive issue.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications, Education and Experience Preferred

  • 1+ years' experience in public accounting, and/or relevant industry or SEC reporting experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA designation or CPA candidate preferred. Strong organizational skills to manage daily responsibilities.
  • Detail oriented, able to multi-task and operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Insurance industry experience, preferred.
  • SEC reporting experience, preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

The applicable base salary for this opportunity is $65,000 - $100,000. The base pay offered will be determined by factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. In addition to the base salary, this opportunity may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
