Job description

Transdev is hiring a Track Superintendent in San Dimas, CA . The Track Superintendent will be responsible for managing the track operations, which involves track inspection and repairs, replacing rails, ties, switches and ballast in compliance with the agreement terms and conditions.
Transdev is proud to offer: Competitive compensation $147,200 - $184,000 annually
Benefits include:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and manage the activities of track gangs, track inspectors, and hi-rail operations
  • Provide clear direction and goals while providing coaching and guidance to both union and non-union employees by regularly monitoring employee performance
  • Apply collective bargaining agreement, company policies, safety standards and operating rules when coaching employees, conducting investigations, and assessing discipline
  • Respond immediately to extraordinary conditions and to initiate inspections and/or repairs to track or facilities as required to maintain Authority facilities and operations
  • Meet deadlines and interact with senior management team
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:
  • 15 years of progressively responsible experience in railroad track maintenance and/or construction in an operating railroad environment, including at least 10 years' experience in supervising or directing the work of others engaged in railroad track maintenance
  • Five (5) years' experience in managing construction and/or maintenance contracts
  • CDL w/Hazmat Endorsement
  • A minimum of ten years' of supervisory skills in a similar position supervising and managing employees engaged in railroad track maintenance in an operating railroad environment
  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions, work alone and in remote locations.
  • Sit for extended periods (up to 6-8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
  • Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
  • Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
