Our attractions operate under strict safety standards, with team members expected to follow established procedures and enforce policies to protect guests, employees, and company assets.

About the Role

The Track Attendant is an hourly, non-exempt, safety-critical position within the Attractions / Track Operations department at HeadPinz and FastTrax Entertainment Centers across all locations. This role is responsible for enforcing racing rules, eligibility requirements, and operational procedures to ensure controlled race operations. Primary emphasis is placed on guest safety, risk prevention, and consistent rule enforcement by monitoring track activity, verifying guest eligibility, and ensuring karts, equipment, and track areas operate safely at all times. Track Attendants are expected to apply safety standards consistently and without exception.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Safety, Eligibility & Risk Prevention (Primary Responsibility)

  • Enforce all track safety rules, operating procedures, and posted signage at all times.
  • Verify guest eligibility prior to racing, including height, age, waiver completion, and wristband requirements.
  • Enforce all height, weight, and safety restrictions for racing without exception.
  • Conduct pre-race safety checks of karts, barriers, restraints, helmets (if applicable), and track conditions.
  • Monitor races in progress to identify unsafe driving behavior, collisions, stalled karts, or rule violations.
  • Issue warnings, stop races, remove drivers, or shut down the track when safety is compromised.
  • Respond immediately to on-track incidents, guest injuries, or equipment malfunctions following training protocols.

Race Operations & Track Control

  • Stage racers safely and efficiently, ensuring proper spacing, instructions, and readiness prior to race start.
  • Clearly communicate racing rules and safety instructions to guests before each race.
  • Operate track control systems, flags, radios, and communication devices as assigned.
  • Assist with kart positioning, docking, charging, or refueling procedures in accordance with safety standards.
  • Maintain controlled guest flow in and out of track areas.

Equipment Handling & Facility Safety

  • Inspect karts, restraints, pedals, and safety components before and after races.
  • Remove unsafe or malfunctioning karts from service immediately.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of track areas, pit zones, and spectator spaces.
  • Identify and report hazards, damage, or maintenance needs promptly.

Teamwork, Training & Accountability

  • Work collaboratively with other Track Attendants, Guest Services, and management to maintain safe operations.
  • Participate in required track safety, emergency response, and operational training.
  • Follow all SOPs, safety checklists, and emergency procedures.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, consistency, and safety-first decision making.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience in attractions, motorsports, or entertainment environments preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to enforce rules consistently.
  • Comfortable providing clear verbal instructions and corrective direction.
  • Must meet minimum age requirements for operating attractions.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and react quickly.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in high-noise, fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
