Job description

Tri-City Group is currently seeking a dedicated Construction Safety Coordinator for Davenport, IA. The Construction Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting the execution of the company’s safety programs at the jobsite level, ensuring that safety standards, policies, and procedures are consistently followed in daily operations.  This role works directly with field teams and project management to promote safe work practices, reinforce training, and identify and address potential hazards.


Essential functions include, but are not limited to:


  • Support implementation of the company’s safety programs across assigned projects and jobsites
  • Reinforce safe work practices and ensure compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Observe jobsite activities and immediately address unsafe conditions or behaviors
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment
  • Maintain a consistent presence on jobsites to support safety execution and reinforce expectations
  • Engage with field personnel, foremen, project managers, and the operations team to promote safety awareness and accountability
  • Assist in reinforcing a proactive, prevention-first safety culture through daily interaction and support
  • Build trust and positive relationships with field teams to encourage safe behavior and open communication
  • Maintain a consistent presence on jobsites to support safety execution and reinforce expectations
  • Support delivery of jobsite safety orientations, toolbox talks, and training sessions
  • Reinforce safety initiatives developed by the Director of Safety and Training and senior management
  • Assist in tracking training participation and completion
  • Completion of incident investigations, documentation, near misses, and post-incident reviews
  • Support injury claims by assisting with care management and return-to-work programs
  • Help track corrective actions and ensure completion
  • Assist in the development of safety KPI’s to gauge performance
  • Support compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards
  • Assist with OSHA or any other regulatory compliance inspection and/or investigation
  • Ensure subcontractors and trade partners adhere to jobsite safety requirements
  • Complete internal jobsite audits and inspections along with compliance-related activities
  • Promote consistency in safety enforcement across all site activities
  • Utilize Procore and integrate it into the safety operations
  • Work closely with Regional Safety Managers, the Director of Safety and Training, and the risk team to ensure program alignment
  • Support communication between jobsite teams and safety leadership


Occasional evening and weekend hours and travel may be required, as needed, based on project demand.

  • Routine regional travel to support relationship development and service opportunities

  • Work conducted in both indoor and outdoor environments
  • Adherence to standard field safety protocols when visiting job sites


Qualifications:


  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or related field preferred OR 2 years of experience or more in construction safety
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety practices
  • OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification preferred
  • Experience working in construction or field environments strongly preferred
