Tasks include reviewing engineering and construction plans, and documents for compliance with codes, regulations, and Town standards. This position is also responsible for the Transportation Division and the pavement management program, inclusive of bridge inspections and maintenance.

Supports the Director of Public Works with management of personnel, management of the Town's bonding program as it relates to land development projects dealing with sureties, bond estimates, and assisting with the management of day-to-day activities in the Department. Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in civil engineering work, including at least three (3) years of management/supervisory responsibility. Current registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the Commonwealth of Virginia, or ability to obtain within one (1) year of employment. Possession of valid driver's license and a safe driving record

Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree in civil, environmental, construction management, engineering management or related field. Five (5) years of managerial/supervisory experience. Bilingual in English/Spanish.
