The Accounting Analyst performs fundamental accounting functions, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts and reinsurance files, supporting cash and billing processes, and assisting with month-end, year-end close, and financial reporting activities for multiple companies. This role supports audits, regulatory reporting, and departmental projects while developing accounting knowledge, analytical skills, and an understanding of internal controls.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare journal entries.
  • Determine and calculate required adjustments.
  • Assist with cash accounting activities, including cash reconciliations and research of outstanding items.ย 
  • Assist with billing processes, including monitoring transactions, resolving discrepancies, and supporting reconciliations.
  • Reconcile reinsurance files and supporting schedules.
  • Assist with the monthly close process and preparation of financial statements.
  • Perform the reconciliation and analysis of balance sheet accounts and sub-accounts, investigating and resolving reconciling items.
  • Assist with completion of the quarterly and annual regulatory filings and schedules.
  • Identify and resolve data validity issues.
  • Fulfill audit requirements and coordination with external parties.
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial procedures and controls.
  • Contribute to department and organization special projects.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

Equivalent experience may substitute for minimum educational requirements. Equivalent experience may include two (2) years of relevant experience.


EXPERIENCE

Strong Excel skills, including proficiency with Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIF, and data analysis functions required.

Minimum of one (1) year of relevant work experience preferred. Knowledge of accounting principles, account reconciliations, cash management, billing processes, and financial reporting is preferred. Experience with ERP systems preferred.
