Job description

Tower Technicians support the construction, installation, and maintenance of wireless communication infrastructure. This hands-on role involves frequent tower climbing, outdoor work in varied weather, and overnight travel. The Technician will complete new builds, upgrades, and maintenance for carriers and tower owners while upholding the highest safety and quality standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Climb towers up to and exceeding 200 ft using proper fall protection.
  • Perform tower construction tasks including antenna installation, steel modifications, and rigging.
  • Safely rig and hoist tower components using winches, capstans, and cranes.
  • Install and test coaxial and fiber cabling, grounding systems, and connectors.
  • Conduct PIM, sweep, and fiber testing (as trained/certified).
  • Align and install microwave dishes and sector antennas.
  • Support civil duties (ground grid prep, site cleanup, concrete prep).
  • Maintain accurate job logs, safety documentation, and photo records.
  • Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment.


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to climb towers and lift 50+ lbs.
  • Willingness to travel regularly with overnight stays.
  • Pass background check and drug screening.
  • Tower Technician II: Minimum 1 year tower climbing & construction experience and completion of all required courses and certifications under the Training Pathway.
