Job description

Description:

We are seeking a driven and upbeat candidate to join our team as a Wind Technician at one of our partnered local sites. In this role, you will inspect, maintain, operate, and repair wind turbines. You will work alongside outstanding leadership and field teams while contributing directly to the companyโ€™s continued success.

Requirements:
  • Participates daily in morning safety meeting.
  • Completes inspection of equipment and tools for safe use.
  • Participate in Job Safety Analysis.
  • Inspect the exterior and physical integrity of the tower.
  • Climb towers to inspect, troubleshoot, or repair turbine equipment.
  • Test electrical components and systems, as well as mechanical and hydraulic systems.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical malfunctions
  • Service underground transmission systems, wind field substations, or fiber optic sensing and control systems.
  • Replace worn or malfunctioning components.
  • Follow maintenance manual and standard operating procedures for performing maintenance on wind turbine parts.
  • Complete and validate written and electronic progress reports.
  • Complete end of day housekeeping.
  • Performs other job-related duties.

Additional Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of related maintenance experience
  • Experience working on Acciona AW3000 platforms, a plus
  • Active GWO Basic Safety Training certificate, preferred.
  • At least one year of experience working around heavy equipment preferred.
  • Must understand and be able to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair, all mechanical, hydraulic, braking, and electrical systems of a turbine.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must have a team-driven attitude.
  • Ability to work on a diverse team.
  • Ability to use technology apps and devices.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to climb on a ladder system with tools and equipment to a height of at least 260 feet.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Must be able to climb and work for prolonged periods in potential extreme weather.
  • Must be able to enter and exit confined spaces for purpose of accessing mechanical parts.
  • Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment.
  • Must be able to work beyond normal operating hours as determined by business demands.

Candidates must successfully complete a background check and drug screening prior to hire. This role is considered safety-sensitive and may be subject to ongoing drug testing in compliance with company policy and regulatory requirements.
