Founded in 1936 in Albion, Indiana, Noble Rural Electric Membership Cooperative (REMC), a Touchstone Energy Cooperative, has provided electricity and other services to rural residents for more than 85 years.
Our local electric cooperative delivers electricity to nearly 10,000 members in Noble, DeKalb and six other surrounding counties in northeast Indiana, spanning more than 1,250 miles of energized line.
Although located in Albion, the cooperative considers its entire service territory as its community. Noble REMC is a leader in local economic and community development, and many of our employees and directors have been, and continue to be, an integral part of a range of community organizations.

Job Description
The OT Systems Administrator manages the Cooperative's mission-critical industrial controls systems (ICS). This includes the installation, maintenance, and security of systems like SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition), AMI (advanced metering infrastructure), and DA (distribution automation) equipment to ensure safe and continuous power delivery to our members.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • This position ensures that all operational technology (OT) systems, software, and applications that are used by utility personnel are running efficiently, securely, and up to date. This position works closely with the leadership team to ensure that the operations technology infrastructure supports the cooperative's broader strategic objectives. Success requires a desire to work with a broad range of technologies in a small team to monitor and identify opportunities to improve the performance, scalability, and reliability of systems and applications that support our electric utility operations goals and objectives.
  • SCADA and Control Systems - Install, configure, and maintain SCADA, OMS, PLC's, and HMIs used for grid monitoring.
  • Grid Automation - Support Distribution Automation (DA) equipment, smart meters (AMI), and Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs).
  • OT Cybersecurity - Implement security controls and manage patches for industrial systems to ensure compliance with NERC CIP standards.
  • Network Management - Administer specialized communication protocols (DNP3, Multispeak) and network connected field devices.
  • Asset Lifecycle - Maintain inventories and manage the long-term lifecycle of utility-specific hardware and software.
  • Incident Response - Troubleshoot system failures and respond to unplanned disruptions to maintain power and network reliability.
  • Network Communication - Oversee field communication network to edge node devices in the field including but not limited to cellular, fiber optic and radio communication systems.
  • Software Management - Administer operations software solutions to support field personnel.
  • Serve as a backup if the IT Systems Administrator is unavailable.

OTHER FUNCTIONS
  • Provide budgetary recommendations.
  • Provide OT assistance to other departments as needed.
  • Certified and regularly trained in first aid, CPR certification.
  • Attend cooperative safety meetings, job training and such specialized training as may be assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Associates degree in operational technology or related field is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in operational technology or related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years operational technology experience is required.
