Job Summary

The Tortuga Cafe Food & Beverage Specialist plays a vital role in the day-to-day operations of Tortuga Cafe. This position requires the Specialist to manage a customers' orders from start to finish while maintaining a presentable and positive appearance given the open nature of the kitchen.

The ideal candidate will possess a passion for service, the ability to learn food notes and prepare dishes to standard, strong math skills for cash handling, and the ability to upsell menu items effectively.

Duties

  • Conducts all opening and closing (Opens and closes cash tills, kitchen cleaning, etc.)
  • Greet customers warmly and take orders
  • Operate POS register for food and
  • Handle cash transactions accurately, ensuring proper change is
  • Prepare food and beverages according to established recipes and
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the snack bar area in compliance with health
  • Clean and restock foods, beverages, condiments, and other
  • Washes and dries dishes, glasses, and other cooking/food prep
  • Assist with inventory management, including restocking supplies as

Must be willing and able to travel for offsite programming and possess a valid driver's license.

This is an hourly, non-exempt, non-essential part-time position. The successful incumbent may be required to perform tasks beyond the scope of this job description as requested by the supervisor. This recruitment may be used to select candidates for additional open positions. It is our policy that all team members, including newly hired, transferred, and promoted team members, will be carefully monitored and evaluated for an initial introductory 3-month period on the job. After satisfactory completion of the introductory evaluation, such team members will be evaluated on an annual basis.
