We are currently seeking a Joint Operations Center (JOC) Watch Specialist to support operations in El Paso, TX. This position is contingent on contract award, with an expected start date of October 1, 2027. This is a full-time, CONUS position requiring an active DoD TS/SCI Level clearance
What You’ll Do
As a Joint Operations Center (JOC) Watch Specialist you will support a high-priority Special Operations and Joint Interagency mission in El Paso, Texas. This position serves as a critical member of the operations watch floor, maintaining situational awareness, integrating intelligence, coordinating operational activities, and supporting command decision-making in a dynamic, 24/7 mission environment. This role falls under Intelligence Analyst within our compensation framework.   This position reports to the Hiring Manager.  You will:
  • Monitor classified and unclassified intelligence reporting on Government of Mexico and Cartel activities within Mexico
  • Proficient with Maven Smart System.
  • Maintain records of Requests for Information received from subordinate, higher, and adjacent organizations.
  • Obtains information and creates reports from various sources using a wide range of operational information to make appropriate assessments to pass to the appropriate decision maker.
  • Maintain metrics databases that track various missions, operational summaries, and other valuable Command updates.
  • Monitors ongoing operations and application of multiple network systems and data management programs critical to JIATF-CC mission planning and execution.
  • Both in writing and verbally provide reports to command and higher headquarters as required to provide situational awareness of ongoing operations.
  • Maintains and secure data on both NIPRnet and SIPRnet and ensure compliance with policies on levels of classification.
  • Production of official messages, requirements, and Fragmentary Orders (FRAGOs).
  • Support the Common Operational Picture (COP) manager integrating all operational command systems.
What You’ll Bring
Required Qualifications:
Must be proficient in using different technologies such as computers and other tools and systems pertinent to the position.
  • Education & Experience:
    • Associate degree from an accredited college or university. 
    • Minimum three (3) years of experience and capabilities within a military setting for the successful execution of tasks associated with specific duty position/focus area.
    • Experience in managing a multitude of operations related tasks within a Joint Operations Center.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Experience preparing intelligence reports, operational summaries, or command briefings. 
    • Working knowledge of Intelligence Community directives, intelligence reporting standards, and intelligence tradecraft. 
  • Clearance:
    • Must have a current and active DoD SECRET security clearance.
Preferred (Nice to Have):
  • Experience supporting USSOCOM, USNORTHCOM, Joint Task Forces, Special Mission Units (SMUs), or Joint Interagency organizations. 
  • Experience as a Joint Operations Center Watch Officer, Operations Specialist, ISR Tactical Controller, Intelligence Watch Officer, or Command Center operator. 
  • Familiarity with Maven Smart System and other ISR exploitation tools. 
  • Experience utilizing Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) platforms and classified intelligence systems. 
  • ISR Tactical Controller (ITC) Certification or equivalent operational ISR experience. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience briefing senior military leadership. 
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, supporting 24/7 operations. 
Travel Requirements
  • Up to 10% travel for Temporary Duty Yonder (TDY) by motor vehicle and/or air travel may be required; some overnight stays possible.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements
  • Periods of prolonged sitting and/or standing, including desk-based computer work.

  • Occasional extended work hours, including evenings or weekends, as needed.
  • Transport and use of work equipment, such as laptops and job-related tools, during site visits.
  • Work is performed in a secure facility where personal electronic devices (including Bluetooth- or Wi-Fi-enabled devices) may be restricted.
  • Communication with team members, customers, and stakeholders through verbal and written methods.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, work under deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Interaction with others in dynamic environments, including situations requiring problem-solving and conflict resolution.
