Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Cardiologist in the primarily outpatient position, you will join our dynamic, award winning Cardiovascular Team in Silverdale, Washington on the campus of St. Michael Medical Center. We are recognized for exceptional patient care and outcomes throughout the Puget Sound, Kitsap Peninsula, and Olympic Peninsula. Physicians are consistently drawn to this community for its unmatched quality of life, rooted in the Pacific Northwest's natural beauty and year-round outdoor lifestyle.

You will provide compassionate and expert care, conducting thorough assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support the holistic well-being of patients and their families.


To be successful in this role you will be dedicated to excellent patient care and possess expertise in diagnosing and managing complex diseases with strong communication skills. You will also demonstrate a deep commitment to patient-centered care and the capacity to thrive within a collegial and supportive environment.

Our service cares for complex, high-acuity cardiac patients requiring a full spectrum of cardiovascular expertise. You will work alongside a team that includes:

  • 14 total Cardiologists and 13 Advanced Practice Providers
  • 4 Interventional Cardiologists and a dedicated Structural Cardiologist
  • 3 Electrophysiologists
  • Advanced Cardiac Imager specializing in Cardiac MRI and Cardiac CT
  • Robust Structural Heart Program: TAVR and Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion (LAAO)
  • 2 Cardiothoracic Surgeons, 4 Cardiac Anesthesiologists, 3 Vascular Surgeons, and Thoracic Surgery
  • Virginia Mason Franciscan Cardiovascular Fellowship Program

Our service line extends across an 11-hospital CommonSpirit system with three tertiary centers, including comprehensive heart failure and a hypertrophic cardiomyopathy center of excellence, giving you the depth of a major health system with the feel of a cohesive, collaborative team.

Call Structure and Work-Life Balance

We have a call model that protects your time and supports sustainable practice:

Overnight call is supported by after-hours coverage managed by a dedicated nocturnal APP team and answering service

Weekend inpatient call: 1 in 7-10

Weekend call supported by 2 APPs and a Interventional Cardiologist

Single-hospital call model; no splitting your attention across multiple facilities

Job Requirements

Required

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
  • BC/BE; ABIM in Cardiovascular Disease
  • Unrestricted active Washington State Medical License or eligible to obtain
  • Ability to obtain a DEA with full prescriptive authority required for the specific practice
  • BLS and ACLS
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Commitment to excellent patient care, collaborative, team based care and long-term community engagement.

Preferred

  • Strong clinical skills in non-invasive cardiology including echocardiography, stress testing, and nuclear cardiology.
  • Cardiac CT and/or Cardiac MRI experience
