Job description

Cardiology– Clinical Faculty Physician

Rush University Medical Center

Chicago, IL

Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, invites applications for the position of General Cardiologist/Nuclear Cardiologist.

Position Details

• Mid-career physician preferred with an established clinical niche while maintaining a broad general cardiology practice.

• Special interest or expertise in cardiac amyloidosis, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), or other advanced cardiovascular disease programs highly desired.

• Provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient general cardiology care while contributing to the growth of specialized cardiovascular imaging services.

• Expertise in the full spectrum of nuclear cardiology, including SPECT and PET cardiac imaging.

• Proficiency in advanced cardiac PET imaging required (MPI with flow, sarcoid, viability)

• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary cardiovascular team to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care.

• Opportunity to help expand advanced cardiac imaging and disease-specific programs within a growing cardiovascular service line.

Ideal Candidate

• Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease with Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology (CBNC)

• Experienced in comprehensive nuclear cardiology, including advanced PET imaging.

• Passion for practicing general cardiology while developing or expanding a focused area of expertise, such as cardiac amyloidosis or hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

• Committed to clinical excellence, multidisciplinary collaboration, and program development.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education/Training: MD or MD/PhD (or equivalent), completion of an accredited cardiology residency training program

• Board Status: Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease

• Experience: Clinical experience of 5 years or more is required for this role.

• Licensure: Eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the State of Illinois.

Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, knowledge and skills; relevant experience and training; education, certifications, and licensure; primary work location; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role, as well as additional compensation such as sign-on and retention bonuses and relocation allowances. Opportunities for increased compensation based on exceeding productivity targets. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.

Pay Range: $415,000 - $587,000
