Responsibilities:
  • Organize and maintain the tool room, including documentation, drawings, and spare parts inventory. Assist in the design and drafting of various components under the supervision of qualified Engineering members.
  • Coordinate tool repairs and preventative maintenance activities with internal and external vendors.
  • Assist with ordering and quoting new tooling components for projects.
  • Support integration of tool room spare parts into SAP and other inventory systems.
  • Participate in the development of SOPs and work instructions for tooling operations. Document tooling changes and repair histories to ensure traceability and compliance by using SAP modules to record these activities.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and propose tooling improvements under supervision, including 5S and continuous improvement activities.
  • Interface with Operations, Engineering, Tooling personnel and Supply Chain to prioritize tooling needs.
  • Provide hands-on support for basic injection mold and extrusion maintenance and repair activities under supervision.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's/University degree in Engineering (Mechanical, BioMedical etc.), or related science/technical field.
  • Familiarity with tool design, fixtures and experience working in a mold making environment where the basic principles of tool functions and manufacturing. Must have basic skills at measuring components using common tooling measuring equipment such as micrometers, and indicators of various kinds.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and CAD files.
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Basic familiarity with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Travel to other sites as needed to support programs

The expected salary range for this position is $140,000 to $150,000, annually depending on skills, experience and qualifications.
