Job description

The Mobility Technical Lead position is responsible for leading the technical execution and delivery of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and tolling projects across the complete project lifecycle. The role requires 5–8 years of professional experience in mobility, tolling, and transportation technology environments, including electronic toll collection (ETC), roadside systems, traffic management systems, and integrated ITS platforms. Strong technical knowledge, coordination capabilities, and experience managing multidisciplinary technical activities are essential.

Responsibilities include leading system design and engineering activities such as architecture definition, subsystem integration, network and communications design, interface coordination, and preparation of technical documentation. Typical deliverables include requirements specifications, detailed design documents, deployment procedures, operational manuals, test plans, and system acceptance documentation. Coordination with project management teams, software developers, field engineers, vendors, and client representatives is expected to ensure technical compliance and successful project delivery.

The role includes participation in deployment, integration, commissioning, testing, and operational support activities for tolling and ITS systems. Responsibilities also include execution and supervision of Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), integration testing, field validation, troubleshooting, and operational readiness verification. Experience with roadside equipment, networking, video systems, AVI/RFID technologies, lane controllers, traffic sensors, and back-office integrations is highly desirable.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills are required to support complex technical environments and multiple concurrent activities. Familiarity with transportation industry standards, systems engineering methodologies, cybersecurity practices, ITS architectures, and tolling interoperability concepts is expected. Knowledge of cloud environments, virtualization, APIs, databases, and monitoring systems is considered an advantage. Effective technical communication skills are required for documentation development, technical reporting, stakeholder coordination, and presentation activities.

A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Transportation Systems, or a related technical field is required. Previous experience supporting tolling operations, ITS deployment, or smart mobility projects within transportation agencies, system integrators, or mobility technology companies is preferred. The position requires the ability to provide technical leadership, support engineering teams, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure the reliable operation and long-term sustainability of transportation technology systems
