Job description

Ready to grow your career? Empire Today is seeking an Area Office Manager/Branch Accountant. This position is responsible for managing and coordinating the day-to-day general office operations as well as oversight of financial transactions within the branches of the designated Area. They are also responsible for direct supervision of department productivity and personnel. The Area Office Manager / Branch Accountant will effectively plan and direct office processes and protocols to achieve maximum expense control across the branches in the Area. This position reports to the Area Director.

Compensation Information:
$75,000-$80,000 annually plus bonus
Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the daily operation of general office staff; including hiring, performance management, coaching, counseling, monitoring, and evaluating performance.
  • Assign and delegate workload equally across several locations.
  • Creates and reports on Manager Review Guide along with the associated action plans to the Area Director.
  • Organizes the contact of customers for collections and/or non-sufficient funds checks and collaborate with Sales regarding any delinquent accounts.
  • Monitors and delegates action items in support of the department’s Key Performance Indicators, such as Aged Open Orders and Open Balances.
  • Ensures work procedures and standards to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the department are being met.
  • Attend all meeting as scheduled or required.
  • Oversees the collection and application of customer payments and financing.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact and liaison for office staff and Market Support on day-to-day operational and administrative issues.
  • Initiate and deliver cross-training for all General Accounting Associates.
  • Creates associate schedules to ensure adequate coverage across the Area, including Saturday coverage
  • Audits and monitors the collection and record-keeping of important documents such as contracts and certifications of completion.
  • Process and submit bi-weekly payroll (input appropriate hours, PTO, Mics or Holidays).
  • Review the payroll system daily to collect and record missed punches.
  • Coordinate and oversee the management of supplies and equipment for the office.
  • Ensure conference and training room schedules are maintained.
  • Composes and prepares written documentation and correspondence for the office.
  • Audit and close jobs as needed.
  • Review and complete Service Request Orders.
  • All other duties assigned or as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of Office Management or Accounting experience or related and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Prior experience with managing remote employees is preferred.
  • Collections and customer service experience a plus
  • Computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional time management
  • Ability to lead and develop others; detail-oriented; manage multiple tasks; set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of Dynamics 365 a plus
