We have a great opportunity for a Calibration Technician to join our growing Mobile Calibration Services group! Our Mobile Calibration Technicians perform calibrations within our Mobile Calibration Lab and cover the areas of force, pressure, torque, temperature, infrared thermometry, dimensional, DC, and low frequency. Technicians will also perform equipment maintenance as necessary and participate in internal audits and proficiency testing. This is a traveling position based around the Eastern Carolina area within our specialized, Mobile Calibration Laboratory. Additional travel outside the area is typically in the Mid-Atlantic to Southeast Regions.

In this role you will:
Travel
* Update the travel requirement to 40 to 60%.
* Travel will primarily support customers throughout Eastern North Carolina, Virginia, the Mid Atlantic, and New England, with occasional travel to other areas as business needs require.
Position Description
This position is based in Norfolk, VA supporting customers throughout the Eastern United States. In addition to on site customer work, the technician will perform calibrations in our Norfolk laboratory when not traveling.
Technical Requirements
I would like the posting to better reflect that we are seeking an experienced technician who can contribute with minimal training. Specifically, I recommend emphasizing:
  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial or military calibration laboratory experience.
  • Military PMEL, TMDE, or equivalent commercial metrology experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience calibrating medium and high complexity electronic and RF instrumentation with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to interpret OEM service manuals and performance verification procedures.
  • Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025, ANSI/NCSL Z540.3, and measurement uncertainty principles.

Requirements
Preferred Equipment Experience
Candidates with experience calibrating the following types of equipment should be given preference:
  • Spectrum analyzers
  • Signal generators
  • RF power meters and sensors
  • Network analyzers
  • Oscilloscopes
  • Communications service monitors
  • Frequency counters
  • Microwave test equipment through at least 26.5 GHz
  • Fiber optic test equipment
  • Precision DC and low frequency instrumentation
